To people that choose to street harass:

There are many ways in which someone may tell you that the “attention” you are throwing their way is undesirable and should stop immediately.  The best rule of thumb? Don’t do it — don’t cat call, whistle at, yell at, follow, pinch, grope, grab, leer at, stare at, comment on, threaten, insult, make sexual gestures towards, or otherwise harass other people.



If you or someone you know has been harassed or intimidated, you can get support and resources here. Here you can find some ideas on ways to call out and assertively respond to people who street harass.
Know that however you choose to respond to street harassment in the moment (whether it’s calling someone out or ignoring them) is the correct response for you.
